Bridal henna has its own clock, and it runs alongside everything else in the last week of a wedding. This is the order that works.
Six months out: enquire
Summer weekends and the weeks around Diwali fill early. Six months' notice is comfortable. If your wedding is sooner, ask anyway; Saarah keeps a few dates open.
Six to eight weeks out: consult
A call, a video call or a visit. Bring your outfit colour, your jewellery, any family motifs, and a few designs you like. Saarah uses these to plan the design and to confirm the collection, so the quote is firm before the deposit.
Two weeks out: confirm the day
Timing, venue, who else is having henna and when. If the bridal party is booking, this is when it goes in the plan.
One to three days out: the session
Henna goes on one to three days before the ceremony. Two days is the sweet spot for most brides: the stain reaches its deepest colour about 48 hours after the paste comes off. Tier three takes five to six hours, so plan a relaxed afternoon with music and family, and eat before you sit down.
The 48 hours after
Paste stays on overnight if you can bear it. Scrape it off in the morning, no water for twelve hours, balm every day, and avoid the shower jet on your hands. Facials and manicures happen before the henna, not after.
The day
Deep red-brown hands, ready for the rings and the photographs. Saarah's aftercare card covers the week after too, because the honeymoon photos matter as well.
